Frula from Serbia

Post by Zabava77 »

I just received my frula in A from Dragan Jovanovich http://www.frule.net.
It is a wonderful instrument with a clear, bright sound. It was made by Mitar Vasic, a renown frula-maker (Bora Dugich plays frulas made by this master).

I will record a simple tune and post it soon, so you can get an idea about the sound.

In the third picture, there is a very short outdoor coffee table. It's very nice. I've never seen a table like that. Is there a special purpose for that table?

The Frula looks interesting too and very well made.

It is just a coffee table for outdoor use. The top is a marble slab. Maintenance free

Here is the recording. It does not do the frula justice, just gives some idea of the sound.

Do you speak the guy's language? I sent him an email in English and never heard back from him. His whole website is in Croatian (at least that's what Google Chrome things), his phone number is without international access code, &c.

Just wondering how you managed to order. How much was shipping &c to the US?

That's strange, because I communicated with him using email, in english.
The emails he sent back were always in english too.

It took 6 weeks for it to get from Serbia to New Zealand.

[ Revival ]

I know this is an old thread, but I have some updated information. My frula arrived from Dragan Jovanovic yesterday. His current website is http://www.frula.info. He always responded to my emails within approximately 24 hours. I wrote to him entirely in Serbian, but judging from his website and his many videos, he speaks English fluently. It took ten days from mailing to delivery on the East Coast of the USA.
