Mysterious Woodwind Challenge!

Who can tell me what the following odd-looking instrument (or instrument part) is?
It has a removable top section with a standard whistle-style fipple, appears to be major-scale tuned (a little hard to tell b/c of missing pads/springs) and the top appears designed to attach to an air source (bagpipe?) Haven't seen a beast like this before.

• a questionable badger pelt
• backwards-tracked Milli Vanilli album (lipsynced backwards, too)
• Swiss war pipes song book, rather obscure, possibly unplayable
• feral teddy bear traps (may need to clean off fur bits)

Wow! That got my curiousity up as well. Please let us know if you find out elsewhere. I have a little under a year in blown instruments and have been limited to tin whistles, quenas, bansuris and one Dixon flute. I don't have a clue as to what this is.

Looks like a simple system csakan. The top could be as-is, or designed for some kind of missing bocal.

That's my Aunt Betty's end table. I know that.

Csakan or flageolet (they are basically the same thing). The missing bit at the top is a windcap which would usually have an ivory mouthpiece and a sponge to absorb moisture.

MT and Jack have it. It's a flageolete with the windcap gone missing. It's not that hard a question really, but it is a nice little flage you have there.
