does anyone play these? I love the sound they produce, large double reed, mouth blown. I don't know enough about them to buy one. They are probably a different scale too. just wondering tansy |

The ney I know is a Middle Eastern woodwind instrument, no reed though.. |

I was confused. It is the mey I am intreested in, similar to the duduk. Has a huge 4 1/2" double reed. I'll let you know if I get one. It would be a good uilleann diversion. Tansy |

Tansy I've owned meys and duduks. my impression is that the mey is a very primative duduk, but it could just be the crappy quality of instruments available (lark, mideast, etc) |
