i am working on a new experiment - a variation of your typical pvc quena. i will be using lorren staffords measurements for a g quena. what i plan on doing is taking a normally made cpvc quena and cutting off the notch and about 4 inches down from it. i will then take the measurements of that piece and recreate the head in bamboo. it will take a while to tune as bamboo, well, you bamboo flute makers know how it behaves. i will also need alot of time to sand down the outer diameter to fit exactly into the coupling, and im sure the "snug fitting" will require alot of epoxy.
Anyone have any suggestions or try this before?
