Hey fluters! Looking to go high or go hard? I've got you covered on both counts. Just placed two flutes on consignment for sale at House of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park MD. If you're in the area, HMT is open seven days a week, so you can drop by and try before you buy. If you're outside the DC area, HMT does mail order with a money-back satisfaction guarantee. Here are the flutes:
If you're wanting to go high, you can't go wrong with the Eb keyless blackwood flute by Eamonn Cotter. I'm the original owner of this flute, purchased directly from Eamonn when I was at Willie Week in 1988 or 1989. If it's a harder flute you're looking for, you can't go wrong with the keyless Delrin flute in D by Des Seery, which I bought used (not that you could tell by looking at it) sometime in the early 2000s.
Here are a photo and a brief sound clip of me playing the Cotter Eb.
