Clementi-Nicholson flute

Just a note to say I just got in a gem of a Clementi flute, Nicholson's
improved, serial 315, c.1820. What a gem. Plays stunningly.
Anyway, it has the ergonomic shapings to the instrument. Two I was aware of that Clementi used:
The cutaway for the bridge of the left hand. Very comfy. The other is the
flatness to RH1&2 holes. Again, comfy. Both items that Prowse took with him when he broke away to produce the Nicholson model solo.
What this one has also is a bevel on the underside for RHthumb. What a great
idea. Very nice and easy to feel the flute for the hand.
Also has the graduated markings on the wood part of the slide and ivory
screw for the cap and the usual ornamental engraving on the rings. Beautiful
stuff.
Anyway, this flute came in near-pristine condition and I'll we spiffing it
up for future sale, if anyone has an interest in it. Great flute, I must
say.
