There was a barley field just calling to be played in. Of course, that meant that I needed to learn The Wind That Shakes the Barley.
Peace,
Erik

Ouch! Only if you want to be itching for the next 24 hours. It was bad enouch as it was. I've got scrapes on my ankles from hopping back and forth from the camera to the field. On 2001-08-29 08:01, MarkB wrote:
But wouldn't "Rolling in the Rye Grass," be more fun

Sorry to disappoint, David. I knew that I shouldn't have added the sound clip... gave it away, huh? LOL!On 2001-08-30 22:57, David Migoya wrote:

At first glance I thought it was Kevin Crawford!
Kevin Crawford I am not.
By the way, I've got an Ormiston on the way to me (next October anyway). I liked the looks, sound, and key construction. I ordered the 6 key blackwood in D.
Peace,
Erik

Where has my mind been? I should have suggested it sooner. How about flute players submitting mp3's to Clips and Snips? We could even have a separate flute page for listing the tunes. Think about it.

great idea tony!
there's one clip (not a good one) of me and my colleague Sean playing part of Galway Rambler during a mic check. We were trying to see where the pops would react, so I purposely overblew lots of notes. Still, the idea of the tune is there.
It's at http://www.rcich.com/migoya/dave-sean.mp3 if anyone wants to listen.

Hi Chris,
Unfortunately, next October. I'm glad to hear that the Ormiston has been getting such good press (both here and the Woodenflute list). I'll be visiting George's shop in May - I'm looking forward to it. I've been very impressed in dealing with him thus far. He seems like a knowledgeable fellow and on top of everything has a cool accent
Tony, you can take the link from my post as well and put it on C&S. The actual link is http://www.tullberg.com/barley.mp3 . Just don't put it near David's :0
David, I'm glad that you posted. So that's how it's done!? I was overblowing on mine, too. Just, ah, checking my sound system. Sometimes I'd underblow, though, just to, um, check my mic's sensitivity. (Mental note: practice more, develop rhythm, etc...)
** It would be fun to hear others as well. Feel free to post links below. **
Have a great weekend everyone
Erik
POST EDIT: LOREN! That means you, man.
