Hi there,

I recorded two hornpipes (The Fairy Queen, The Locomotive) using my Grinter flute.
https://youtu.be/cUoKkhOcjGo

I guess I learned this set from my Japanese friend. Tommy Peoples played it on the fiddle in "Maiden Voyage - Live Traditional Irish Music Session from Pepper's Bar, Feakle, Co. Clare."
http://www.amazon.com/Maiden-Voyage-Traditional-Session-Peppers/dp/B000001BFC

It's a great set though both tunes are difficult for me to play on the flute... I have to use G sharp key!

Thanks for listening!
Tomoyuki

An old reel on a very new Corrigan F Pratten copy. This is Ian's second flute ever made... It speaks for itself.

Something a bit different: https://soundcloud.com/monorail-1/ice-caves-theme-short

Flute and piano played over an electronic/synth background. Played on a Tipple-D flute. This is part of a soundtrack for a game I'm working on.

This is a track that I've just re-recorded this time with the help of Karen Tweed and with the original guitar and bouzouki accompaniment. It was first used on Wooden Flute Obsessions III CD. It starts with a laid back hornpipe known as Garrett Barry's. I think the second tune was composed by MacMaster (uncle of Natalie I presume - Buddy) but has been through the mincer of the Durham Colpitts session and doesn't sound like anything I can trace. The final tune was composed by my friend Paul Ruane for his daughter Orla Ruane in 1999 (approximately). Paul was a great fiddle player, a founder member of the Tyneside band Cuig. He died on the 3rd August 2016 at all too young an age. He taught me Orla's reel shortly after he'd composed it and I've played it ever since.

(Holmes & McNaughton eight keyed flute)

Don't normally share this sort of thing but going to!

Played on a John Gallagher Pratten. By no means claim to be a great player, but I think this flute has great tone. Very pleased with it..

Just posted a version of the 7 part "sand jig" Kitty O'Neil's on my SoundCloud page this is part of a series of home recordings I am doing. This was played on my J. Gallagher 8-key dogwood Pratten. There will probably be another flute track posted in about a week or so.

Great playing Hatao, I´ve heard the first tune you played with the Doyle before, maybe in a Matt Molloy Recording but I don´t remember the tune title.

I have to say I prefer to hear the instruments without reverb, these flutes have a lot of sound nuances that could be overlaped by the reverb.

Amazing work anyway.

Hi Hatao,
nice playing, could i ask what software you used for the multi camera editing? Fancy, I'm impressed! You had quite a few cameras on tripods?

This is a slow air I got from Christy Barry. He plays this flute using the same fingering on a D simple system flute but I thought I'd try it on a Bb Ormiston eight keyed flute. It has the use the foot joint quite a lot which makes it trickier but well worth the effort.

Christy recorded it on Wooden Flute Obsessions 3. He plays a marvelous rendition full of feeling and emotion. If I get it a tenth as good I'll be happy.
