Anyone ever heard of the Gray Brothers?

Post by dunnp »

Hello just curious if anyone has heard of the gray brothers I found a 78 of them on ebay? Because there are not as many well known fluters as fiddlers of the 78 era I thought they might be of interest to folks here. Seems to be tunes alright ? Anyone have a list of 78 era fluters? I used to seach for these in flea markets and antique shops never came across a flute but loads of fiddlers and 'family bands' CHeers, Patrick I'm not sure if this link works but

Never heard of 'em - but Hammy Hamilton's book has a complete list of all recorded Irish flute music up until the date the book was published. The Gray Brothers, according to him, recorded this in 1928.
"There's fast music and there's lively music. People don't always know the difference"
