new Rafferty tune book
OK this is getting complicated. I bought one of Lesl's books--hasn't got here yet. I also asked him to find out what tunes M.F. will be teaching this summer at the Augusta Harastage Festival in West Virginia. I plan on going because I live one mountain range over from there. So now you people talk about making a CD with Mike playing.
Well it might be of interest to someone that I just bought a $3500 professional camcorder, JVC GR-HD1. I bought it because this guy at <http://hoosierfc.com> and I intend to make a DVD for youth soccer traning this spring. I am at <www.youth-soccser.com> . It will go along with a book I have had on the market for 8 years or so ("Teaching Soccer Fundamentals). In any case, I will be at the festival and by then I will have, I hope, expertees in DVD makeing. Of course, CD's are lower fadelity and I will be able to make them too.
I would hate doing that, but it might be fun for someone else who will be at the Augusta this summer. They can use my equipement.

Just a note to say the postmistress has informed me that the books take average a week to 2 weeks for delivery on media mail, not 3-4 days as quoted on the post office web site.

We have gone onto the 2nd printing which I just picked up on Fri. Proceeds now going to the 3rd printing.

Most summer camps (Augusta among them) are perfectly happy with students making audio recordings of their classes. In fact, they encourage it. Not so with video recording, though. Most camps (Augusta among them, at least the last time I was there - and I doubt they've changed their policy) expressly forbid video recordings without the permission of both the instructor and the camp director. The obvious reason for this is that while audio recordings can be done fairly unobtrusively, video is a major distraction to the class. You can imagine what it would be like if every student was jockeying for a camera angle to record that quick finger ornament for posterity...
So if you're serious about making a DVD of Mike Rafferty while you're at Augusta, I suggest that you contact both him and the Augusta office well in advance and get their okay for the project. Don't just show up with a camera and expect to be able to do it.

I have some old out of print stuff if anybody has 80 bucks they want to part with. And that's just the cd's. Wait'll you see what I'm charging for vinyl!!
