I've just purchased an Olwell bamboo flute. Could anyone offer some suggestions for cleaning and maintenance? Thanks very much.

Olwell suggests soaking some olive or almond oil monthly on the inner bore. That's about it, except don't leave it out in the sun  - Tod

Thank you, Tod. Should I take that to mean that it is not necessary to swab it out after playing? My only concern is that the bore and internal tuning may be somewhat delicate (more so than those of a hardwood flute). I don't want to damage the flute by dragging a swab through it constantly if that's not recommended.

Thanks again,
Paul

It should also be swabbed out after playing, and I wouldn't worry about damaging it any more than a wood flute... mine have no problems after more than a year - Tod
