*happy* I took it in today, and he took a quick look at it, sorted it with in five mins, also took a look at the pads, and adjusted one key. Says its ok, to bring it back in 6 months, and they will see if it needs a service then.
Lovely place! We bought two silver clothes as well, and he didn't even charge us for the repair, and adjustment!

Well I'll let lifeforms tell you what happened but I'm so glad we, her parents, don't have to panic to try to buy a new head or anything. I think we've had near enough the same sort of panic attacks since she did it. Wish my seond hand one sounded like hers though.

... I could really brag and say half of that sound is from me playing it so well *G* but that would be a dis-service to TJJ! It's a lovely flute. And also since he adjusted one of the keys, i've managed to hit high, high G a few times far better than i've been able to do it previously. Only just really learning the third octave. From D to F so far, with that G adding to the new collection. (The banes of being self taught. No real schedule on learning the notes hehe)
