Do you or did you take lessons to learn the flute?

Yes, irregularly (whenever there's a teacher around and I have the money)

Heh, yes, I forgot the "can't play at all" option, so I guess that's "all by myself" ;-)

as many as i can get, which is almost none
i think flute lessons are essential

There are no teachers in this area, and I know that I am going to Boxwood next year come hell or high water (tide?). It has been a struggle of two years on my own to get to the point where I can actually play the flute.
