It's a used Cooperman, it says "Regimental Model" across the head. Seems to be blackwood with what appear to be nickle silver rings but might be wrong on that.
I've never played fife before but the price was so low that I figured it couldn't hurt to try it.
The embouchure is a bit tighter than for flute but it isn't too bad. I can get into the third octave without too much difficulty but getting to the top of the third is tough, need more practice I think.
I need to find some fife specific pieces. Right now I am just messing around with stuff I know on flute but it still sounds pretty good to me.
If anyone has any free fife music resources that can point me at I'd appreciate it.
