Tell us something.: I wish to learn to play the simple system flute and I am searching for a suitable instrument. I wish to reply to a posting advertising a flute for sale.

flute circumference. do blocks/posts have an effect?

Post by iangm »

Hello Everyone.
I am a new member and a novice flute player. I would like to ask a question. I have found some flutes a bit uncomfortable at the left index finger, I think due to them having a slightly greater circumference here. I have been thinking of getting a keyless flute with a view to maybe later adding keys. My question is : Is a flute built with potential for post mounted keys likely to be of greater circumference than a flute with blocks?
Thank for your responses.

That question would likely have to be answered by the individual flute maker, I would think. Good luck on your search.
