I have previously listed this flute at a lower price, but there are some changes in condition and the updated description is as follows:

For sale is my Bryan Byrne Blackwood Keyless R&R type flute. The flute’s rings and the visible part of the slide are silver while the fully lined headjoint and other slide parts are brass. The flute has two professionally repaired hairline cracks of the barrel. One of those cracks was only a partial thickness crack that didn’t go all the way through to the bore. Overall the flute is in excellent condition with only some minor cosmetic signs of use.

This is a top notch flute in terms of craftsmanship that plays wonderfully with a complex, focused tone, excellent response, and good volume. It’s no canon, but it does project, and it’s fun to play. Second register is very sweet. I’d call the holes medium size to medium small - easy on smaller hands. I do not find this is a difficult flute to play, but it does require a more focused embouchure than some flutes and the hard D may require practice for some to hit, but it is definitely there. So, maybe not the best flute for a beginner, but everything is there if you’re willing to work for it at first.

If you are unfamiliar with Bryan’s flutes, do a google search and you’ll find plenty of praise for them, even though his flutes are rather rare.

I don’t know for certain what Bryan is currently charging but the last prices I can verify from old emails I have were $1800 for keyless, and that was a number of years ago.

$1200 is the price for this Byrne which includes a Cavallero Flute Roll. I will pay for USPS Priority Mail shipping and insurance U.S. destinations only. If the flute doesn’t sell by Dec. 1 I may consider international sales, but not just yet.

Photos available to serious individuals, pm me with your email address and let me know what you need to see, I will take and send photos.

Thanks,

Loren
