Doug Tipple Bb fife...simply wonderful

Post by Jayhawk »

I just received a Tipple Bb...secondhand from Blayne's shop (great service as always). Anyway, I just wanted to say what a lovely little fife it is! The singer in our band loves Bb, and this little fife will get a ton of playing time starting tonight.

I'd say it's more of a classical mini-flute than a historical kind of Bb fife, but I don't plan to be up in the 3rd octave and don"t even know those those bizarre fifing fingerings anyway so it may be more than capable up there. As a Bb intrument instead of a Bb whistle, though...it's truly outstanding.
