Stolen Olwell

Post by Thomaston »

I’m posting this for my friend Scott Miller since he’s on his honeymoon.
His keyless Olwell Pratten in blackwood was either lost by or stolen at the Atlanta airport. We’re not sure of the serial # or if Olwell even numbers them (does anyone know if he does?). I do know this has been his primary session flute for close to 15 years.
If anyone happens to run across an eBay or other online posting that matches the description, or on the unlikely chance you find yourself in an Atlanta pawn shop or music store, please let one of us know.
You can message me here or contact him directly via his email milles4@gmail.com
Many thanks!

Yes, Olwell does number his flutes. Twist the crown cap off and on the edge of the head, under the crown cap, is the flute's number....not that it helps now.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

It's possible that Patrick has a record of what went to whom. If Scott got the flute directly, it might be worth giving Olwell a call for that number, because it'll come in handy later.

Has Scott contacted the airport's lost and found officer? People forget to do this basic step sometimes.

Here is the number 404-530-2148 Open 8AM till 5PM

I’ll pass that number along to him, Casey. Thanks.
He bought the flute used, so I’m going to see if he remembers who he bought it from. Maybe they were the original owner and Pat can find the serial number from there.
Thanks, everyone.
