We are very pleased to announce the second Aberdeen "FluteFling" - now incorporating whistles, as well.
A weekend of sessions and classes will take place in Aberdeen over the weekend of Fri.16th - Sun.18th November 2018.
Some details have still to be finalised, but at the moment the programme will be as follows :
Fri.16th - an evening informal "welcome" session.
Sat. 17th - 9.30 - 1630 : 2 flute classes and 1 whistle class will rotate between our 3 tutors who this year are :
Gordon Turnbull [ "simple-system" flute and whistle ]
Sharon Creasey [ "Boehm-system" flute and whistle ]
- and we are particularly pleased to be having as our guest tutor and speaker, Dougie Pincock, ex-"Battlefield Band" member for 7 years and Director of the "School Of Excellence in Traditional Music" in Plockton on the west coast of Scotland, since its' inauguration in 2000.
The afternoon will end with a "Question & Answer" session with Dougie and the other tutors.
A communal meal will be arranged in a local restaurant for those who wish to participate.
An evening session which may include a few "performance" spots from the tutors.
Sunday - lunchtime / afternoon "Farewell" session.
Full cost = "£50 Concessions = "£40 A "link" to pre-book will be created and posted here soon.
Session venues are still under negotiation. I will post further details as they come in to play.

Friday and Saturday night sessions will be upstairs in "The Blue Lamp" [ same venue as last year ], probabaly starting around 8.00pm on each evening.
The Sunday "Farewell" session will be in the "snug" bar of "Ma Cameron's" on Sunday, between noon and 3.00pm. We will be displaced by the Aberdeen Folk Club at that point, but it may be possible to carry on proceedings at another venue.
