WTB 2 specific fifes in Bb

Post by waltsweet »

Dear friends,
I'm looking for 2 specific fifes in Bb:

#1 an original made by Chris Abell

#2 a fife I saw 50 years ago, last time at the Fairfield Muster. I'd know it if I saw it. This is as near as I recall:
Straight brass ferrules, perhaps 1" long. Wall probably 0.029", not thinwall tubing.
Jointed (2-pc). I believe it was mortise-and-tenon (not a proper tuning slide).
Mostly straight profile. Dark grey material, almost black. I think it was composite (resin + particles). I don't think it was linen phenolic. Not extruded plastic, not wood.
Sold in a white paperboard box. I was under the impression it was made somewhere nearby.
Please send me a message. Thanks.

Wow, not many people know that Chris Abell made fifes! I don't think he made many of them. I have one he made in delrin, but I'm not selling.
