Nice to see another nice post mounted flute by a fellow veteran maker like myself out there!

Oh, geez!! Whatever you do, don’t start the purist vs. post-mount argument again! We’ll be tarred and feathered and rode out on a rail!!

Re: Hammy Hamilton selling a brand new flute on eBay.
I have no problems with block mounted keys and I admire the ones who do this well. I just was never that good at that type of woodwork detail and I never had the patience (or time) to try to get good at it.
Also, I am a bit of a spendthrift and so I can make a flute out of 38X38mm squares (or even smaller) and fit keys to it if I want to. Block mounted keys require larger 45X45mm square and the cost goes way up.
I am considering going to a hybrid block mounted system however, using blocks that are made off the flute, and then dovetailed in, screwed and glued to the body. I've done this type of thing in the past.

(Collins English dictionary defines this as, "a person who spends money carelessly or wastefully." Quite the opposite of "thrifty," which I suspect you are.)Casey Burns wrote:I am a bit of a spendthrift ...
