Proof that sometimes you do need a tuning slide...

I have played flutes both with, and without, tuning slides, and I long agreed with the opinion that you could always get by with a tuning slideless flute using the tennon and rolling out/in as needed. However, after playing outside in 102° Farenheit for 3 hours yesterday, I have decided sometimes you do need a tuning slide. See image below:
