Josefin's Waltz in G goes down to low B and C.

I haven't got a low C so am having problems with these two bars near the end of the second part - | C2 D2 C2 | B,2 D2 G2 |

I've tried a few alternatives one of which sort of works.

Any suggestions?

Here's a Session version that's close to what I've picked up by ear - there's also abc version in D, but I prefer it in G.

Raising the C and B an octave is the usual approach and in this case doing so sounds completely plausible.

Thanks Mr G - I'm aware of going up an octave and I think that works with this tune if played at speed or with an instrument with a lower range but as a slow tune it sounds odd to me.

This is such a lovely tune, and I've never known the name of it, so thanks!

How about this for a last line:

Without a C key cross fingering is the only option but I've decide to miss them out in the A part.


After playing around with the tune I think this is the best solution for me when playing solo.

In the 'A" part I stay on the low E note into the 5th bar - shortening it by taking a breath or tapping the E, I find that sounds better than jumping up to the C

In the 'B' part |CDC|B,DG| - I find that |cdc|B,DG| works ok
