Does anybody know who is the maker?
Can you post more images and tell us where you got the flute from or how you came to have the flute?

The maker is Tim Adams, a Dublin man who lives near me in Malmö, Sweden. Tim's flutes are in tune and good value for the money.

Thank you for this link. I've bought it from seller who didn't know nothing about maker. The flute is very responsive and quite loud. Louder than my M&E. My one is made of purpleheart with brass rings.

Hello Keer
That is an early model of a Tim Adams Irish Flute, probably around 2014. I am the maker.
My flute model has evolved since then, you can find more info here: http://www.adams.se/flute
Funny to see the flute turning up on C&F :)

Tim - the Fnat insert is ingenious! If you added an Eb/D# plug, one for G# and Bb...you'd be offering the next best chromatic option ot keys, which of course handle accidentals better if the accidental does not persist throughout the tune.

Nicely done and welcome to the board!

Eric

Hi Eric
Thanks! Yes, the scale changer plugs are fun and useful. They came about after often wanting to move to a minor tune and having to pick up a cold classical flute and warm that up. Where I am (Sweden) people often want an F natural for their music. Now they get one.

Hi Tim. Loved your story: http://www.adams.se/flute/about.html

Your comment: "I started making flutes seriously in 2014 and I enjoy sending them off to different parts of the wide world to become part of people’s musical lives. What a privilege." particularly resonated. I've used exactly the same expression: "a privilege".

There are no cultures without music. So making music is important, to the player, the listener and the society. Being part of the support mechanism for the player is a unique privilege.

Keep up the good work! (Not that it looks like you need my exhortation!)

Thanks Terry!
And for your inspiration and guidance from afar. We were in touch around 2013 with me asking questions about things like back reaming. You kindly answered me in full and more. Your website is enormous and I refer to it regularly.
I may well have got the 'privilege' insight from it :-)
Stay well
Tim
