CP: Engraved Bling for your Casey Burns Flutes

Post by Casey Burns »

Add some Bling to your flute!

Soon I will be offering retrofit end caps for owners of my Flutes, including Folk Flutes. These will feature the inlayed disks with Guilloché-inspired engraving as well as actual Guilloché eventually (once I get my 2 engraving engines finished), as well as Chasing and Repoussé. The costs will vary on the material used (silver, copper, enameled copper, etc.) but be around $75 or less.

Some Folk Flutes may not work for this if I cut the head joint on the short side leaving an insufficient length of head joint above the stopper. However, I mave a few strategies around this. For all customers including International I can do these end caps in Boxwood and Mopane. Due to the CITES hassle Blackwood end caps will be available in the United States only. I can substitute Ebony possibly, assuming it is not CITES listed.

I will soon have a web page set up with different examples and styles which I will continue to add to as I explore this art form. For now here is one of the first examples.

Hey Casey,

You should call your new Cap "SEABISCUIT"! :poke:

Very attractive work!

Are you at a point where a new folk flute could be ordered with the end cap and/or ring(s)?

Tell us something.: Some of my original tunes are displayed at https://thesession.org/members/49476
I play several flutes, many whistles, many guitars, bouzouki, banjo, and own way too many pedals.
I could open a music store if I didn't live in the back woods of Pennsylvania.
