Tell us something.: in two words, Rudall & Rose. but since a minimum of 100 characters is required, I should list a number of makers I found extremely interesting… I don't even know how much are 100 characters...

No it's not Newport Lasses (Trip to Athlone) - there are 4 tunes played here, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th are credited in the video ( Newport lasses / Gander in the pratie hole / When sick is it tea you want). The 1st one I've not heard before although it does sound like a mix of other parts of tunes.

You could try asking the band directly; there's a link to their Facebook page under the video on youtube. If you're not a Facebook user, let us know and I could ask on your behalf. It sounds Scottish to me, and sounds like a recent composition.

The first tune played opening the clip is a Scottish pipe tune, "Mull Of The Mountain" - recorded by "Ossian" in the 1980s.

Thanks, Kenny! It sounded vaguely familiar, likely because I listened to Ossian's "Seal Song" a lot back then.

There are some historical notes on the tune in the comments at https://thesession.org/tunes/10954
