I'm in the market for a good polymer flute. My hobbies (other than Irish Trad) are bicycling, hiking and kyaking, and I want a fkute to bring along. Wood is out as I don't want the hassle of worrying about it. I've read a lot about Serry vs M&E, but wouldn't mind hearing more.
Anyone play or have opinions on the following flutes? Wendy Reed's new premier 3 piece? <<http://www.flutes.nu/index.php>> At 200 bucks it looks pretty neat. John Rutzen.....<<http://gofree.indigo.ie/~jrutzen/index.htm>> This flute really interests me, an R&R copy with several innovations. Half delrin, half blackwood, I'm not sure why this appeals to me so much.
What else?

I am sure you have checked out the woodenflute list archives. But if you haven't, you should. The woodenflute list is by far the most informative source of flute info I know. There's a link to the archives from the woodenflute.com website.
I have a Seery flute and it plays really well. Not always when *I* play it (I am a relative beginner), but the way my teacher can play it convinces me it's a fine flute!
Cheers,
Jens

Just as a matter of interest, Flute maker Desi Seery is planning/hoping to attend the opening of my new 'store' in Adare on 20th July (7pm, Adare, village hall). He will be bringing his wonderful flute and exciting new polymer whistle (and a whistle player, I believe) with him. If he can't attend, he's sending me the flute and whistle in advance.
Anyone who may be in the area is welcome to attend.
