Never knew the man, but some of my favorite music has been played on instruments he made. He truly left a legacy behind. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

I was sorry to read this. I didn't know Sam, but I owned one of his flutes for quite a while and I liked it a lot.

Thanks for that link. I meant to add some more detail/recollections after I made the initial post of this thread (which I made, just after finding out the news, from a coffeshop in Dublin while on the move oñ Wednesday) but never really got round to it.
