Hi Jim,

I've found it very strong across the three historical Pratten Perfecteds I've tried. The slender Rudall Rose bore of Solen Lesouef' modern D key flute however honks louder than all three.

I don't know why this is. Maybe embouchure size, tonehole size and personal playing style comes into play and makes a direct comparison not so easy. Maybe the modern makers worked on the historical flutes and improved them. I don't understand why myself, however going with a flute which has the best acoustic balance and ergonomics I.e Siccama is the safest option :)
