Our local session

Post by Kirk B »

We've been trying to keep our local session here in Pittsburgh alive. We don't have the multi-mega session scene that a lot of "big" cities have and attendance is patchy sometimes. I came up with an idea to try and build some interest/attention for our session and ran it up the flagpole. So here it is:

Attention Pat! Are you listening? Get you butt over to session!

Cheers,

Kirk

Nothing to complain about there! You need a flute player. :)

We have two. One wasn't there yet for the video and I was behind the camera. :)

This would be the weekend to get the word out. There is nothing else of interest to the people of Pittsburgh this weekend.

It's a pretty tune. Jess (the Böhm flute player in our session) does a great job with it.

I love Crested Hens, too...brought it to my local sessions. It tends to be called "that pretentious tune", but everyone seems to like it despite the nickname.

Charlie Harris’ Polka...I do prefer it as the reel, followed by the other Charlie Harris reel that goes with it (aka Burren, Creamer's, John Blessing's...whichever one you think is called which).

Hmm, I was recording and I wasn't sure what it was so I let tunepal figure it out for me. But now that you mention it they are playing it in reel time so methinks I'll make a change to the title.

Thanks,

Kirk

I know but she's a really good player. She has 15 years of experience on me and she's about 25 years younger. When she starts the Gravel Walks at around 140 bpm I just self-implode trying to keep up.
