I'd like to be able to tune the tenor and bass drones on my Garvie A smallpipes up to B for Bm tunes. I think it would be challenging to fabricate a tuning bead, but it occurred to me that I could just drill a hole and cork it. Callum Armstrong plays a set of Goodacre smallpipes that appear to have corks in holes in the drones:

Has anyone attempted this? Any tips about location of the holes or the drilling operation?
