Pipes with more than one octave.

The pipes are semi-closed fingering, I haven't played the uilleann pipes so I really don't know. The chanter has six open holes on the front plus a key for low C, on the back of the chanter there is the octave key, a small thumb hole and an F hole for the thumb of the right hand. I'm still waiting for the fingering chart.

I do have a low D Brueghel style doedelsack made by Dominic Allan with anglo french semiclosed fingering that plays an octave and a half in the Swayne style.... I wonder if these pastoral pipes you got are fingered like these border pipes in Low D?.

The fingering for the pastoral pipes might be like Dominic Allan’s border pipes but I don’t know. With mine, the right hand is closed for the notes A, B, C, and C# in the first octave. The notes D,E, F#, and G are played like a flute. The second octave has some variations depending on the note.
