FS Garvie pipes in A

Post by merran »

I have a set of mouth blown border pipes/session pipes for sale. They are in as new condition, fully reeded and sound lovely. Regretful sale. Am travelling in Scotland at moment with them. Price negotiable. Please PM or email moir.merran.mm@edumail.vic.gov.au for more details.

I will say, for those not familiar, that Nigel Richard (of Garvie Bagpipes) makes in my opinion the best "border" chanter available. It fingers like a Highland chanter but also gives a full chromatic scale by the use of crossfingerings. The volume is great for sessions and folk groups and the like, not overpowering like the Highland pipes, and it won't get lost in the crowd like Scottish Smallpipes often do.

This is the perfect instrument, in my opinion, for a Highland piper who wants to play in session or folk group settings.

Good luck with your sale! Somebody will be very happy with those pipes.
