Anybody know the names of the tunes he played? In particular, the second one--a bit flash, but I liked it anyway.

Almost forgot. Someone posted scads of Gordon Duncan videos recently.

These were taken at a concert in Cheshire in '91.

Have you seen all the "You Tube" videos of the Turkish / Laz "Tulum" ?
Just type in Tulum in the search space and see what I'm talking about.
I'm really struck by how many times these videos have been viewed,
some counters on them register up to 25,000 "hits", or more !
I think that beats out every other kind of Pipes on the "Tube"site !
I think "You Tube" could be changed to "Tulum Tube" Hah !
Sean Folsom

P.S. Can anybody on this Forum translate the Turkish language comments ?

I forgot to mention a new 21 minute video, edited by Michael Huston, for the Arts Council of Monterey County (California), which is entitled:
"Sean Folsom's The World Through Music". It's on another web video site called "Blip T.V."
I'm playing some Gaita "Galega", Tunesian Mezoued, Zampogna di Napoli,
Bulgarian Kaba Gaida, 2 drone "Irish" GHB and the "Tayloresque" Irish Pipes.
Due to the way it's edited, the Piping is too brief,
and it's mixed in with some of my other musical instruments,
but it gives you some idea of what I do with my school shows.
The web address is :

http://blip.tv/file/321753/

Note : You must click on the start arrow as the video does not play
in quite the same manner as the "You Tube" videos.

Enjoy ! Sean Folsom

This guy's pretty good, I think, AND well-informed of his instrument's tradition:
Austrian piping

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyFEC3WfYvY

Doing a Bohemian tune now:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9dFezfP5n4

Rudolf Lughofer, however is the key figure in Austrian Bagpipe revivalism...

I've seen these 'King-head' pipes online..havent you? Supposed to be a reproduction from a Spanish original,.....well carved, yes; well played, yes; but they just dont strike me as having a unique sound, or anything intersting to say with that sound...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqIVWOxvzA4

and finally,

THESE are simply THE BEST-SOUNDING Hungarian Duda Ive EVER EVER heard...(Im so jealous, and nice playing Miklos...) a FAR, FAR cry from those awful 1950's 'archival' Duda recordings....
