Y'know, one of you guys should do this and totally show that wiseguy what's what. Maybe a YouTube tutorial on how to tune your bogus pipes, dammit.

Actually I once did exactly that in High School using a wine cask bladder for the bag, a tin whistle and the D and G pipes from one of the mouth-blown tuners that choirs use. Worked very well. Took it to school to show my music class and had them on the floor in fits of laughter - possibly because of the Shiraz fumes emanating from the bladder.

Back years ago a young man around here showed up at pipe band practice with his home-made "ball pipes".

Yes it was a basketball, with a blow-tube stuck in one place, and the top of a practice chanter stuck in another place.

Lol that was hilarious! But in the right hands it could sound good. And now I know what a chanter is (or in this case isnt!)
