FS, Cornemuse musette Béchonnet

Post by 185507 »

I have a musette Béchonnet that I never really play and I want to sell it because I am going on Trip to Europe by the end of the month.

check the eBay listing if you are interested. I might be willing to trade for a bagpipe that is not Scottish!!!! But I really do need the money instead.

1. Thanks for the explanation.

2. This is a moderated board, and the moderators ... moderate. In red. Especially first-time posters offering things for sale. If you prefer an unmoderated board, you don't have to post here.

3. A statement of fact is not an accusation, unless you think it is.

just a thought,

it might help you sell it quicker if it is labeled properly.

Most Musette-Béchonnet have 3 drones, and use a bellows.
Theyre usually made in G (16 pouce), or A (14 pouce).
I have never seen one personally in F.

A mouth-blown Cornemuse du Centre, in F (18 pouce), with 2 drones,
i believe is what you actually have listed for sale. Is this not so?

The bag cover looks as if it s from a Galician or Asturian Gaita.
Good luck with your sale

Hello ZdF,

Thanks for your willingness to help. I agree with you, most Musette-Béchonnets are in G. I have seen a lot of Musette-Béchonnets with 2 drones though!!! This is a rare one because it is in A and I am 100% sure that it is not a cornemuse du Centre because of the size!!!

The Bag has nothing to do with Either Gaita Gallega or Asturiana!!!!! It would not even fit one if them, because the chanter whole on the velvet cover is HUGE!!!! Besides I have never seen a Gaita Gallega or Asturiana with patter!!!! This is very unique style!!!!
Thanks again!!!!!

THE PIPES ARE SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is definitely NOT a Bechonnet. The "Cornemuse du Centre, Type Bechonnet" - as introduced in 19th c. by Henri Bechonnet - may come in different keys, may or may not have a bag-cover or different kinds of Chanter&drone-stocks. But MOST of them are BELLOWS blown, and ALL of them do have a tiny 3rd (sopranino) drone within the chanter/tenordrone-stock. This here is simply a cornemuse du centre in one of the less common keys...
