Tuning a Button Box

We have some evidence, however, that you may have to pay for the reeds.

Tuning a Button Box

Post by Kmeister »

Hello All,

I have a Hohner Morgane and one note's tuning is driving me nuts. Is there any way to tune this one note myself, or do I need to get it to someone who knows what they are doing? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Tuning isn't rocket science but it is very easy to ruin reeds if you don't know what you're doing. People usually advise you to practice tuning on something where it doesn't much matter if you do scrap the reed.

In your position I'd find a tuner locally - they could do it for you in 10 minutes. But if you feel brave enough to attempt it, I suggest you ask for help at the melodeon.net forums where you will get all the advice you need.

And remember that on your box there are two reeds for each note. :)
