Tommy McCarthy: Handing Down the Tunes!
TG4 December 27th, 2010 from 9:15pm to 10:15pm
"The programme covers the life of Clare born musician Tommy McCarthy, from his early days growing up on the family farm and learning to play music, to his years spent in London, and his return to live once again in Clare.
The themes of music, emigration, and in particular the handing down of the music to his children and grandchildren are central to the narrative, and many of Tommy's contemporaries, such as Joe Burke, Noel Hill and Reg Hall, pay tribute to the man and his music."

Re: Tommy McCarthy: Handing Down the Tunes!
Ken Lynam sent me the DVD of this film last week, which was nice of him.
I think we can assume the DVD is now available for sale in the appropriate outlets.

Can't find it on Google!Mr.Gumby wrote:Ken Lynam sent me the DVD of this film last week, which was nice of him.

Is there any useful info on the DVD itself, which might help me track it down?
Cheers

My guess is that the first of the run were sent out to people who contributed to the film. I suspect it will be for sale shortly.
You could try contact Ken or Tommy Keane who was associate producer.
The film on the DVD runs 52 minutes, I had the impression when I saw the TG4 version it was shorter than the film shown at the original screening for friends and family, not completely sure though.
