Very nice! For some reason I was expecting scottish music, but even though I didn't really know the tunes, the style sounded very irish to me. I checked the tunes and yeah, they're irish tunes, mistery solved! I assume they have a northern flavor...

Rathlin Island is just of the coast from Ballycastle, Co. Antrim, where this was filmed & where I live.
The townland of Turfahun is just outside Bushmills, which is about 9 miles away, along the North coast & Kate Marie was written by a local musician, Frank McCollam, who named this tune after his daughter.

There has always been constant travel in boats between the coastal folk of this area & places like Islay & Argyll, plus you can usually pick up Radio Scotland much more clearly than RTE, so you would tend to hear Scottish Music far more often at sessions around here, than you are likely to do, further South.
