Lachenal Cocertina ..

We have some evidence, however, that you may have to pay for the reeds.

Lachenal Cocertina ..

Post by weedie »

G'day all,
I've just been given,on a permanent loan ... a Lachenal Concertina..
Would anyone be able to give me an idea as to when it was made please ?
On one side there is a label which reads ..
Lachenal & Co Patent Concertina Manufacturers London ..and on the other side Serial No. 101924 ..
There are two rows of 5 buttons on each side...plus the vent valve (?) on one side..
It seems to be a pretty well made instrument and my friend thinks it is an Anglo Concertina ,as the notes are different on the push and pull ( :boggle: ) ....
Thanks for your help ... weedie ....

In this case:

101924 - 51480 = 50444
50444 / 6838 = 7.38
1895 + 7.38 = 1902

So yours would date from around 1902.
