Oh, yeah, they're even heavier.

Here in Serbia, they are very popular, and called what in english would be "beansters".
They are unparalleled in cross-octave(s) speed as i understand.

i am actually teaching myself cba now, c system, not bayan. with cba, you can get small models that still give you 30 notes (plenty for itm, and enough for most other world folk genres) in a box of the same dimensions and weight (11 pounds-ish) as the compact PAs that only have 24 or 26 treble notes, which are NOT enough to really play itm or most world folk genres....you can get these compact cbs with three rows, which make the fingering a bit tricky but still totally possible for itm, or four or five rows, with the fourth/fifth row a same-note "repeat" of the first, for more easy finger ergonomics....i still love anglo concertina, but i am not playing much b/c accordion these days. the cba is so brilliant---in an 11-pound package to be able to play paris musette, tango, eastern european, as well as itm, without the headache of diatonic basses....it's pretty intoxicating...

i do believe that when people start to realize they can get 30 or 31 treble notes in this small and lightweight of a package--and you can get it in two register switches, a single dry M reed, or an MM setting tuned to whatever wetness or dryness you like---the compact cba will be the wave of the future. if you want to go 12/13 pounds, you can get 34-37 treble notes and 60 basses, like the saltarelle chaville or the Cooperfisa Perla 300A....or the pigini preludio C30 with 72 basses, that one's probly 13.25 pounds....
