Hi all:
What is the best button accordion tutorial in your oppinion?
A friend of mine plays piano accordion and now he wants to learn to play box, needing a good and complete tutorial to begin. He has the mad4trad one, but he said it isn't for beginners.
What you recommends me?
Thanks

The answer will depend on what system your friend is intending to learn (how many rows, and tuned to what scales).
The main Irish systems are B/C and C#/D. Presumably, since he has looked at the MadForTrad tutorial, it is B/C. If so he's lucky because there is some material available for the B/C but none, as far as I can tell, for the C#/D.
There is to my knowledge one tutor book for the B/C box, "The Box" by David Hanrahan. This is definitely for beginners, and in fact I think it's written for 8 year olds and doesn't take you very far byeond telling you what buttons sound what notes.
Here's what's available on video: http://www.buttonbox.com/multimed.shtml#irishba

If on the other hand he wants to learn the D/G (favoured by English musicians and a very few Irish ones) box or G/C (favoured by French musicians) let me know, you should be able to find good basic stuff.
