teacher wanted in Asheville, NC

Post by maggieo »

Hey--I have a beginner tinwhistle and cd/book. I am trying to do this on my own, but it sure would be nice to have some lessons locally to speed up the learning curve. We have an Irish music session weekly, but everybody already seems like an expert, and I am shy......

Also, I am going to Ireland for 2 weeks in November 2006. I am interested in suggestions for visiting traditional music locations....

I'm a flutist & whistle player in Asheville. I have a degree in Flute Performance (modern & Baroque flutes), but play Irish music as well.

I also know others in the area who play Irish style. You might try heading out to the local Irish session on Sunday nights at Jack of the Wood, starts around 5-6pm through 8pm or so.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like.
