Are there any countries which have folk music similar to Irish folk music, specifically non-Western countries? The similarity could be in instruments, style, themes, etc.
I have found some information that seems to link Chinese folk music to Irish. Can anyone confirm this with more information? One of the similarities seems to be in the harps.
Can anyone please give me more information on this, or at least put me in the right direction?
Thank you.
