what are your thoughts / theories on the rhythmic patterns then? - i think 9/8 may be root (q-Gaelic) celtic. Prove me wrong if i am, but its not that common elswhere.

9/8 isn't all that uncommon in swedish traditional music. Though it's rarely written out as such, only in 3/4 with triplets. And the rhythm is quite different from your average slip/hop.

Waaaait! Maybe that's where hip hop came from!

sub arctic mongol is not a reference to the historical mongols of Genghis Khan et seq, but a reference to racial types who have inhabited around and just below the arctic circle since yonks .......
