Hi,
last weekend we have been at the Tonder festival in Denmark and saw a concert of a Danish band which we now have a couple of CDs of as well as one of another band project the fiddle/hurdy gurdy/whistle player of this band is in. If you have heard of Hedningarna before and like their music I am pretty much sure you also like this band's music. Here is a link to their website, they do have sound samples on there you can listen to. The bands name is Instinkt http://www.instinkt-dk.dk/index-gb.htm The band is three girls on drum, fiddle and contra bass and two guys, one on fiddle and one is a multiinstrumentalist. Listening to their albums I still cannot get over the drummer's skills, she is amazing not only in her drumming but also in her singing, she did a solo at the festival gig and it sounds like a mixture between throat singing and joiking, she comes from the 10th floor cellar right up to the 50th floor above ground (well that is how it felt to me), a voice range I have rarely heard before....
Enjoy listening
Brigitte
oops... still logged in as Colin, sorry for that...
P.S. the other band is called Virelai and is more Danish folk orientated, here is their website http://www.virelai.dk/english.htm
