I think your thread title is a bit redundant.
We're into week 5 of my beginning bands--they're already on their fifth note! How about you?

Fifth 'official' note, too. One trombonist is still making one indecipherable farting noise, but the clarinets have added several varieties of sqwawks to their arsenal. One alto sax player has, of course, finished the book on her own and is bored. My drummers, it seems, have been listening to Steve Reich.
