Mongolian Throat Singing + Indian Singing + Scottish Canntai

Post by ceilingman »

I recently stumbled upon these videos, one of Barnaby Brown singing the canntaireachd for the piobaireachd Struan Robertson's Salute along with two Indian singers, each singing in their own style. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_7wh_ClamA) The other is Rowan Hartsuiker singing canntaireachd along with his smallpipes, but using Mongolian throat singing techniques. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyGNEa7Pu38)
These are really cool and I wanted to share. I'm also wondering, does anyone know of any similar projects, or know of any other unique singing techniques that could be similarly combined with canntaireachd?
Cheers
