Good fiddle instructors in the L.A. area?

Post by Loren »

Hey All,

I'm trying to help find sone fiddle instructor options for a friend of mine who lives in the L.A. area. She doesn't play at all currently. I do realize that we have an instructor available/wanted section on the forums, but I'm really like oking for recommendations based on experience of some sort. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm sure MYGuru would have included my recommendation, if available.

Kevin, sounds like some of the better instructors have moved and the other is temporarily out of commission. And I see there is no longer an LA branch of Comhaltas? Where are all the 'chillins gonna learn? You can't swing a cat here in Boston without hitting a good fiddle instructor, so we're a bit spoiled.

That's right, it folded a few years ago. A combination of politics and demand, I think. And Californians are notoriously independent and hard to coordinate. But the Celtic Arts Center serves some of the same needs.
