Irish Tenor banjo case

Post by Richard Katz »

I am looking for a source for a good quality Irish Tenor banjo case.

This is for a short neck 17 fret open back tenor.

Any advise or suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance! Richard

TKL makes one, or has. Not the best but very serviceable. I think TKL supply the case sold by Gold Tone for their tenor banjos. Should be somewhere around $120 street price.

Check out Elderly Instruments. My guess is that they will have a few to select from. http://elderly.com/accessories/cats/CSBJ.html

The TKL cases that Feadoggie are really pretty decent. I have several of their products including the 17 fret resonator tenor, but I know they (did?) produce an open back version. They're the standard black vinyl over plywood with fluffy interiors. Not touring cases, but more than adequate for the average session player. If Elderly can't help out, contact angiesbanjos.com. Angie may be able to order one of the Gold Tone cases without that ugly stenciled-on logo.

A know a couple of guys who have settled for a five-string case with a towel in it, but like Rocky said to Bullwinkle, that trick never works.
The crwth will set you free!
